In 2007, the United Nations officially recognised autism’s impact and unanimously declared April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day in an effort to “highlight the need to help improve the quality of life of children and adults… so they can lead full and meaningful lives.” World Autism Awareness Week and even Month are now celebrated by organisations worldwide, with a host of events intended to raise awareness of autism in local communities.
Autism Network Scotland has created a map of World Autism Awareness celebrations happening nationally. We’ve also added all of these events to our calendar; you can click here to browse the calendar by day, or you can use the list below to find events by area. Click on the event to be taken to the full details on our calendar.
If you know of an event not listed here, please email Autism Network Scotland with the full details.
