Edinburgh - Sensory Spectacle: FEEL IT Training Course

Pasda have arranged a unique autism awareness training event in association with Sensory Spectacle with a one day ‘FEEL IT’ course.

This is a good opportunity for those new to autism to gain an understanding of sensory processing difficulties for those with ASD. With the help of a specialist, various techniques will be available to assist how it might feel and reflect on how we can support those with autism.

The FEEL IT course focuses on understanding Sensory Processing Difficulties (SPD). One interpretation of a Sensory Processing Difficulty may mean feeling overwhelmed or distressed by loud or constant low-level noise, such as a fridge freezer. Those affected may also show little or no response to these sensory cues. These ‘sensory processing difficulties’ are associated with behaviour and socialisation problems, and affect education, relationships, and participation in daily life.
