This new training course, the second in the series of the Greggs and Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCIL) partnership, went ahead yesterday for the first time. It has been aimed at those who already have attended the first course and would like to develop their knowledge further about food safety and control if thinking of working in the field of food, such as in cafés or kitchens where food is being prepared or stored for the public.
There were seven participants who attended the course and they all enjoyed it and were keen to learn more. The course was interactive and lively throughout and each participant received a certificate of attendance at the end of the session.
The photograph below is showing Matthew Buntin who has attended both of the courses. He informed everyone that through attending the first Greggs course, he was able to find part time employment in a local Garden Centre Café.
This is just one example where the partnership between LCiL and Greggs has had a positive impact for Matthew and the wider community.
There will be another of these courses later in the year. Watch this space for confirmed dates!
