Nine young people with Asperger’s Syndrome worked together over 13 weeks to create an Education Toolkit as a training resource for families, carers and educators to learn more about supporting and working with people who have Asperger’s Syndrome. The DVD that was part of the toolkit has proven so popular that Plus Stirling have now made it available on their website.
One group member said: “I just want people to know that it’s not that big a deal, lots of people have Asperger’s Syndrome and it’s OK to have it.”
The Toolkit was featured in the November 2012 edition of the Autism Network Scotland Newsletter, and has proven so popular that the interactive DVD included in the Toolkit has now been published online on the Plus Stirling website. The Toolkit also contains a list of group-based getting to know you games and information about additional resources to promote awareness of Asperger’s Syndrome.
